On Saturday June 10th, 2023, the President of the United States of America tweeted a picture of the front of the White House with the following statement on his Twitter account:
“Today, the People’s House – your house – sends a clear message to the country and to the world. America is a nation of pride.” – President Joe Biden
Upon seeing this picture and reading the words of our current president, my first thought was – “Ichabod” which means the glory of the Lord has departed. (1 Samuel 4:21) Pride has stolen God’s glory.
Our President went against the Flag Code Section 7e, (the American flag is to be in the center of any display featuring multiple flags or pennants) and hung a LGBTQ+ progressive flag front and center on the White House (the People’s House) of the United States of America. This was done as part of Pride Month festivities which were happening on the front lawn of the White House. Debauchery was celebrated on the lawn of the People’s House for all to see.
This once great nation, which was founded on Biblical principles, is now being destroyed. America is under destruction so in President Biden’s words they can, “Build Back Better”. However, according to the Creator of all life, the plans of our current leaders will not end well. As God destroyed the earth with a Great Flood and later collapsed the Tower of Babel, the efforts of these prideful globalists will also plummet.
Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
As world leaders stand on their podiums and speak with authority and power, what do you think God is doing? – God is laughing. (Psalm 2:1-5)
As a God-fearing Christian, I sorrow at the wrath that will come for these abominations. We are witnessing Romans 1:18-32 in America right now. The Bible reveals how God judges prideful nations – He gives them wicked rulers. God brings nations against nations. I do believe that America is currently under the judgment of God.
Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
Psalms 11:3 “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
So what is a Christian to do? – Keep the faith! God has given us the gift of faith to exercise. The hardest of all obedience is to practice constant faith. Yet, it is vital to have faith in order to obey all the other commands. Our faith will be tested more and more in the days ahead. Hold on tight Christian! Don’t let go of God’s Word! Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the Word of our God shall stand for ever.”
We are seeing the judgement of God on display all around us with this pride movement, yet God has entrusted His Church to glorify Him. His eyes are on us. (Psalm 11:4-7) Let us be found faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the only hope for all nations! (1 Peter 4:16-17)
Satan brings great misery in the world, but he never breaks free from his leash. Remember, God is sovereign.
Should America be renamed to “Ichabod”? Has the Spirit of God left our country? – No. God is omniscient, He is present everywhere at all times. (Jeremiah 23:24) Even more than that, the Holy Spirit dwells within the Church of God, we are His temple. God will never depart from the Church which the precious blood of His Son is building. Matthew 16:18 “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Man may destroy America, but no one will destroy the Church of the living God! We are safe and secure in our Savior’s hands. (John 10:27-29) And even if we lose our grip on Him, the mighty hand of God has locked and sealed us into His “eternal” grip. (John 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, Jude 24-25) God’s glory is infinite. Dear Christian, live for His glory today!
1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
